Name: Arnbjørn Ólavsson Dalsgarð
Born: 1971, Tórshavn
Awards and recognition: M.A. Jacobsen Culture Award in 2009 for his work as co-editor for the literary magazine Vencil.

Arnbjørn Ólavsson Dalsgarð is an author, librarian and MA in Applied Philosophy. He has written short stories, tales and poems for both adults and children. His first collection of short stories, So hon starir inn í veggin, was published in 2015.

For many years, Arnbjørn worked as a librarian, and from 2013-18 he was the director of the City Library in Tórshavn. In addition to writing, Arnbjørn has been teaching literature, creative writing and Applied Philosophy at the Folk High School in Tórshavn, the Evening School in Tórshavn and at the University of the Faroe Islands. Arnbjørn holds a part-time job as professional secretary for the Faroese Council of Ethics, and another a part-time job as secretary general for Fjølrit, the Faroese copyright collection society. From 2006-2019, Arnbjørn was co-editor for the literary magazine Vencil.
