New Faroese Readers Award
Faroese libraries have joined forces to establish a new literary award - The Readers Award.
The nominated authors’ books have been particularly popular among library patrons and readers. The aim is to recognize and honor authors based on the preferences of their readers as well as to give the readers a voice in celebrating the most widely circulated books.
Readers themselves decide the winner, with a committee of library staff nominating three titles based on lending data from all Faroese public libraries and the National Library.
The award ceremony will take place in March and the winner receives 30.000 DKK.
