"Gentan í verðini" - Rights sold to Hungary
The debut novel "Gentan í verðini" by Katrin Ottarsdóttir was published in September 2020 and Danish publisher Lindhardt & Ringhof immediately bought the rights to publish the novel in Denmark. Now rights have been sold to Hungarian publisher Polar Egyesület in Budapest, and the novel is expected to be published some time next year. Translator is Kata Veress.
"Gentan í verðini" is about a lively, curious but rather introvert little girl from Torshavn who goes to visit her grandparents in a small town. The story is written from the girl's perspective, she is quiet and almost invisible but has great skills in observing everything around her.
