Katrin Ottarsdóttir received M. A. Jacobsen Literature Prize 2023
FarLit congratulates Katrin Ottarsdóttir who received the M. A. Jacobsen Literature Prize of 2023 for her novel Summarið varar ikki alt árið longur (En: Summer does not last all year any longer).
The M. A. Jacobsen Literature Prize is awarded by the city of Tórshavn. The committee states that Ottarsdóttir is exceptionally skilled at portraying a closed existence in surroundings that seem both familiar and foreign.
The book is among FarLit’s selected titles from 2023 including a sample translation. It is published by Asfalt and rights have been sold to Denmark.
