New collection of short stories

New collection of short stories

Oddfríður Marni Rasmussen has released a new poetry collection. It is called “Upp eftir enda” which can be loosely translated to “upright”.

The collection revolves around people who have come to a standstill, they are locked down by prejudice and environment where progress seems stranded.

The short stories portray those who are rarely heard, and who very few can understand. Each with faults and loneliness in a society where people know each other, pry and are distrustful. It is difficult to challenge norms and prejudice.

The author gives us a peek inside these people’s everyday life, who are capsized somehow. They live with broken dreams, failed plans and can’t make their way out of absurdity, the loneliness in twosomeness and estranged love.

“Upp eftir enda” is published by Sprotin.
