As of January 1st 2014, FarLit has taken over the administration of the Nordic translation grant for the Faroe Islands. The grant is allocated by the Nordic Council of Ministers and is under administration by literature centers in the Nordic countries and regions. Winners of the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize are given priority for up to 3 years after the fact and special attention is given to minor languages in the Nordic region.

Nordic publishing houses can apply for translation fees of an original Faroese work into another Nordic language through FarLit. It is possible, on a limited scale, to apply for production costs.
