Faroese publisher, Sprotin, has published a new poetry collection “Av heilum hjarta” (Whole-hearted) by Oddfríður M. Rasmussen. Although Faroese poets have written traditional haiku poems this new publication is the first collection of its kind with original haiku poems in Faroese. In his preface the author says about Faroese people: “We are a silent people. Silence says a lot. We use few words. I really like short and meaningfull words, precise and dense words. The contrast in words and the space between them. Faroese people prefer apt words”.
