New Children's Book
Last week Rakel Helmsdal released a new children’s book called Leyp nú, Eva! It is a thrilling story about secrets, mysteries, tragic fates and courage.
The story takes place in the fictional town of Port Janua where 10 year old Eva and her friends are playing a dangerous game on the railway tracks: who can cross the track the most often before the train comes? One day it almost ends in disaster, but a mysterious man saves Eva. But who is he, and why is he so sad? And why is Eva’s friend Merian suddenly acting so strangely? And why won’t she tell Eva where she lives?
Eva and her friends get to play in a real play in the theatre, but soon the secrets in Seraphia Theatre start piling up.
Leyp nú, Eva! is published by BFL.
Rakel Helmsdal is nominated for the 2024 Nordic Council Children's and Young People Literature Prize for her book Toran gongur (En: The Sound of Thunder).
