Author won the Cultural Prize for Young People
The aspiring young author, Anna Malan Jógvansdóttir, was awarded the Cultural Prize for Young Artists 2016 at a Prize Ceremony hosted by the Faroese Cultural Ministry this week. Anna Malan Jógvansdóttir published her debut poetry collection “Undirfloyma” in 2015 and did the illustrated work of the book too. The poetry collection is divided into three parts; darkness, sea and glass. Her poems describe the physical and inner emotions of mankind whilst using vocabulary and imagery from nature and landscapes. Last year Anna Malan was one out of only eight aspiring authors who were admitted to the two year course at “Forfatterskolen” (Literary school) in Copenhagen.
