Magnus Heinasen - søgan um eitt dómsmorð?
Late last year Páll Nolsøe published the biography of Magnus Heinason ("Magnus Heinason - the story about a damnation?"). Magnus Heinason was born in Oyndarfjørður in the Faroe Islands in 1545, and is one of the greatest naval heros in Faroese history. He led and won numerous fights against sea pirates who ravaged the Faroe Islands, he fought alongside the Dutch in their freedom fight against Spain and he obtained recognition from the Dutch authorities and the Danish King. But he is also a much disputed person who was in constant conflict with the authorities and was accused of fraud, rape, piracy, incest and abuse of power. In 1589 Magnus Heinason was sentenced to death and executed in Denmark. The question whether he was a legend or a scoundrel still remains. Author Páll Nolsøe made his debut in 2013 with the crime novel "Brot". The biography of Magnus Heinason is published by MS.
