New Autobiography

"So normal og tó ikki" is an autobiographic book written by Birita Michelsen whose everyday life is mostly like everybody else's and yet is challenged by her autism. The book is written during a period of seven years and is composed by extracts from Birita's personal diary, songs, food recipies but mostly by her clever reflections on how it is to be a young woman diagnosed with autism. The book also encounters Birita's positive attitude towards life in general; towards her family, health assistants, music, literature, art and crafts. Birita has a playful way of writing but does not skate over the more serious issues of her life. Herdis Solveig Tyrer has made the illustrations and the book is published by BFL
