"The Tower at the Edge of the World" by William Heinesen was published in the UK late last year by Dedalus. It is William Heinesen's last novel written when he was 76 and is the summation of all his work. There is the perspective of both the child and old man looking back at his life as a child. It is on Icelandic novelist Sjón's top ten "must read" list of modern Nordic books. The translation is by W. Glyn Jones and the beautiful cover is by William Heinesen's son, the artist Zacharias Heinesen.
