New short stories collection "43 bagatellir"
“43 bagatellir” is the title of the new short stories collection by Katrin Ottardóttir. Katrin, who is a film director and pioneer in Faroese film making, made her literary debut in 2012 when she published the highly acclaimed poetry collection "Eru koparrør í himniríki" for which she was awarded the Faroese M.A. Jacobsens Award. “43 bagatellir” is a collection of short prose stories, each of them no more than 300 words. Last year Katrin was asked by an Argentinian author to write a story of 300 words to be published in an international anthology. Katrin was so inspired by this idea that she decided to write a whole book of 43 stories of similar lenght but different themes like a bathtub, a watch, a balcony, a window, a shopkeeper. A bagatelle is defined as "a thing of little importance", whether these 43 bagatelles are of little importance is for the reader to decide. "43 bagatellir" is published by Torgard.
