Monsters in Estonian

Monsters in Estonian

Nei! segði lítla skrímslið (2004), the first book in the popular children’s book series Monsters, has been published in Estonian by Norður. No! Said Little Monster, or “Ei!” ütles väike koll in Estonian, has been translated to over a dozen languages alongside the other 10 books in the series. The book is a charming and humorous tale of learning to stand up for yourself and knowing when to say: No!

The award-winning Monsters books are jointly written by Faroese writer Rakel Helmsdal, Swedish writer Kalle Güettler and Icelandic writer Áslaug Jónsdóttir, who also illustrates the books. The unique Nordic collaboration has reached a global audience, with readers of languages such as Arabic, French, Spanish and Chinese being able to enjoy the story of the monsters.

The Faroese editions of the books are published by Bókadeild Føroya Lærarafelags (BFL).
