Dania O. Tausen received the 2024 Ebba Award

Dania O. Tausen received the 2024 Ebba Award

Congratulations to multi-talented artist Dania O. Tausen who was granted the EBBA Award 2024 last week with the prize money of 25,000 DKK. The EBBA Award is named after the legendary award-winning Faroese author and translator Ebba Hentze (1930-2015) who in her will stated that her fortunes should be granted to young talents in literature. The EBBA Award is administered by the Faroese Writers' Association and in their motivation they say:

Dania O. Tausen has already written and sung her way into the Faroese art scene as well as abroad. She came as a breath of fresh air with her debut poetry collection SKÁL. The collection is a humble and human portrait of how the secular can be intertwined with spirituality.

Dania has also released two records under her own navn while simultaneously being a member of the band Aggrasoppar. Her lyrics have literary merits and raise existential questions.

SKÁL was published by Sprotin in 2020.
