New Essay Collection by Høgni Mohr
This essay collection consists of 20 selected texts written over the past 20 years by bestselling Faroese author Høgni Mohr. The book includes texts about an Ecuadorian president, a Danish prime minister and five French feminists.
The reader is also taken on a gannet hunt, to a theatre show in Tórshavn, a boat race in Klaksvík and out to sea in the company of shagged-out seamen. Covid criticism and ruinous romance are among the deeper topics in the book.
The Faroese cultural fund is given a good old thrashing, as are oddly diligent opponents of homosexual behaviour. Read a touching tribute to Nobel Laureate Niels Ryberg Finsen and learn about mighty erections and Faroese architecture – or lack thereof.
Celebrated Faroese artist Astrid Andreasen created the book cover, and forewords are provided by award-winning Faroese authors Oddfríður Marni Rasmussen and Carl Jóhan Jensen.
