New in Denmark: Anathema
"Anathema" by Jógvan Isaksen was published in 2018 and is the fourth novel in the crime series about the detective William Hammer and his Skansadeild department. The novel has just been published in Denmark by publisher Marselius, and translated by Anya Mathilde Poulsen.
It's Friday night and William Hammer is having a beer at the local bar in town when a drunk man pours beer over him. William hits the man, and from that moment there is a sudden turn of events. A Russian member of the mafia tries to kill William, and it soon turns out that all the incidents are linked to Faroese export of fish produce to Russia.
Jógvan Isaksen has written five novels in the series about William Hammer and ten novels in the series about investigating journalist Hannis Martinsson. At the moment, Trom, an international tv series is beeing shot in the Faroe Islands with Danish actor Ulrich Thomsen in the leading role as Hannis Martinsson. The tv series is based on four novels in the series and adapted by screenwriter Torfinnur Jákupsson.
