New non-fiction about wild plants
Góðkrút is a new non-fiction book published by Sprotin. Góðkrút sheds light on the importance of having respect for nature and celebrates all plants, including weeds. The book encourages experiences in nature and in the kitchen for the whole family og provides knowledge about plants, how we handle them, and how we can use them in cooking.
The title is a very clever wordplay with the Faroese words for “good”: góð and the word for weeds: ókrút = góðkrút/ good weeds.
With this book you can go on adventure in the good weeds kingdom. Learn about the plants, and how they have been used in the Faroe Islands and around the world and try out the many recipes.
The book is written by Disa Christiansen, Hansa Christiansen and Joan Sørinardóttir. Marita Gullklett took the photos of the plants, and Igor Zaitsev took the photos of the dishes.
