New translation
Silja Aldudóttir’s children’s novel Ódjór (en: beast) is now published in Norway by Orkana Forlag. The norwegian translation is by Lars Moa, and the Norwegian title is Udyret i tunnelen.
Ódjór is Aldudóttir’s debut novel. The story is about beasts who live among us and inside us. People in town experience floods and earthquakes but nobody knows why. From her secret tree, the girl Asta sees rats race around in the grove. Asta imagines the roof of the school smashing down on all of them. Underneath the tarmac and concrete a beast is threatening to destroy the whole town. And one day Asta finds herself face to face with the beast.
The horror novel is for children age 10-13. The novel is illustrated by artist Bárður Dal Christiansen and published by BFL. Rights have also been sold to Sweden and Estonia.
