New Non-Fiction Book for Children
"Magnus Heinason - hetja ella brotsmaður?" is the title of a children's book published two days ago. Páll Nolsøe has written this fascinating non-fiction story about Magnus Heinason, an historical figure and legend in the Faroe Islands. For centuries he was considered a hero but was he? Since his death people have disagreed about his reputation. Was Magnus Heinason a hero who was unjustly sentences to death or a villain who got what he deserved? Magnus Heinason grew up in the Faroe Islands in the 16th century. He was an adventurer and shellback, and was widely known in the Nordic and European region for his fights against pirates and for being courageous and cunning. His greatest legacy in the Faroe Islands is that he protected us against pirates and built the first fort Skansin in Torshavn. The book is published by BFL and the illustrations are by Jóannes B. Lamhauge.
