Strikurnar in Sinhala

Dánial Hoydal’s illustrated children’s book Strikurnar (in English The Lines) from 2022, which was nominated for the 2023 Nordic Council Children and Young People's Literature Prize, has been released in Sinhala on the Sri Lankan market. The book has been translated by Taraka L. V. Vipulaguna and published by Dedunna Books.

Strikurnar tells the story of a boy experiencing obsessive compulsive disorder while grieving his late grandfather. Lines start appearing everywhere he looks; between the flagstones in the courtyard, under all the doorsteps, in the ceiling above his bed. Everywhere. Why do lines appear everywhere all of a sudden, the boy wonders in this endearing book, originally published by Bókadeild Føroya Lærarafelags.
